Frequently Asked
Questions
This page is designed to hopefully answer most, if not all of
your questions regarding what we do here at VAMP.

Why is the name "VAMP"?
Back in 2004, when I first started the idea of investigating, I
wanted a name that would stand out and not be used by
anyone else. That wasn't the greatest idea. Which leads to the
next question ...

Do we hunt for vampires? Or, do we really believe in
vampires?
Well, no ... And no. The name VAMP is just an acronym used
for Virginia (VA) Metaphysical (M) Paranormal (P). When I
began, the acronym was for Virginia Appalachian Mountain
Paranormal, but we recently changed that to better describe
what we're looking for.

Can just anyone go on an investigation?
Unfortunately, no. Most of our cases are involve us going into
client's homes. We are liable for everything while we are there,
so taking strangers into someone's home is not a good idea.

Why do investigations at night?
This is because we have jobs and families, so weekend nights
are the best time for most members in our group to go. It's
also a better time for most of our clients. Another reason is
noise. At night, things are a lot quieter than during the day, so
when we run our audio, it's not as contaminated with outside
noise.

Can you do anything to remove a "ghost" or "spirit" from
a location?
This is an unclear answer. There are things that we can
recommend to our clients that may decrease activity, or even
make it seem to go away, but there is no fool-proof way of
removing something that no one is certain of how it got there in
the first place. Anyone claiming that they have something that
works is not telling the truth. Anyone claiming that they have all
of the answers is not telling the truth. We are based in facts. If
we cannot give you something definitive, then we cannot say
what it is. Please beware of those out there who claim to have
all of the answers.

Why do this for free?
This is something that I love; Helping people. It's a hobby that
gets me out there to try and find that undeniable proof of the
existence of some kind of life that we're not completely aware
of, whether it's life after death, or not. I have had experiences
growing up in my life that were very unnatural, so I would like
to find that proof. In the meantime, I will disprove as many as I
have to. The majority of our cases lead to no evidence. Most
things get explained. Some things are paranormal, meaning
above what's normal. Then there are things in this world that
just defies logic and understanding. That's what we seek.
